Last night very well could turn out to be the turning point of my season. Things were going well on Friday afternoon. I woke up in third place, an impossible climb from the muck of mediocrity. Then, to top things off, Kerry Wood actually got a win for me. After that, it was not only downhill, but I was Vinko Bogataj, the skier from ABC’s Wide World of Sports.
I hit .175 Friday night with one RBI. Erik Bedard left with back spasms after three innings. Ervin Santana threw a gem (two hits, 9k’s) at Philadelphia and on my bench. I lost about five points in one night.
In classic fashion, all of that work to get into a respectable position was for naught. If I was going to make a move, the time to start doing that was last night.
